Dear Guests,<\/p>\n

Since 2012, our hotel has been awarded the “Green Hotel” title several times in the competition organized by the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association, as Hotel St\u00e1ci\u00f3 is a leader in the country in utilizing renewable energy. We are proud to have won 1st place in the Green Hotel Award for 2019-2020. Since 2020, we have continuously held Evergreen status.<\/p>\n

Below, we would like to share with you our efforts to protect the environment.<\/p>\n

At our hotel, we consider it exceptionally important to use our knowledge to protect the environment for the next generation. We kindly ask you, if possible, to contribute to reducing the environmental impact. The two best ways to do this in our hotel:<\/p>\n

If you place towels on the floor, we will replace them during daily housekeeping. Towels left on hooks or hangers will not be replaced, as we assume you will use them again, thus reducing the environmental burden caused by laundering.<\/p>\n

In the case of buffet-style main meals, please only take as much food as you are sure to consume. Please be our partner in curbing food waste!<\/p>\n

And these are our efforts:<\/p>\n

Heat pump operation:<\/b> The basic problem is that a wellness hotel, in general, is a high-energy-consuming, wasteful operation\u2014just think of the energy demands of saunas, steam rooms, heated pools, and large quantities of domestic hot water, as well as the simultaneous need for cooling. In summer, the entire house must be cooled, and throughout the entire season, the server room, the plunge pool next to the sauna, and the Kneipp pool also require cooling, which likewise demands a significant amount of electricity. Heat pump operation can solve this costly, high-energy-consumption problem of operating a wellness hotel with the highest efficiency. The heat pump is capable of producing both cold and heat at the same time, just as a home refrigerator is cold on the inside and releases heat through the black grid on the back. The heat pump heats with A+++ energy efficiency while producing cold as a free byproduct. In practice, this means that during summer operation, it produces domestic hot water and, in return, cools the house, the Kneipp foot bath, and the plunge pool for free. In winter, it heats the house and produces domestic hot water, while still cooling the server room and the aforementioned wellness pools according to our cooling needs. In summary, it produces one type of energy (warm or cold) with A+++ efficiency, while simultaneously providing the opposite energy (cold or warm) as a gift. Due to this characteristic of heat pumps, hotel buildings with simultaneous cooling and heating needs\u2014typical of wellness hotels\u2014should exclusively be equipped with such a system, as it protects both the environment and the wallet.<\/p>\n

Outstanding thermal insulation:<\/b> During construction, a 15\u201320 cm dryvit layer was applied to the entire building, approaching the thermal insulation standards of passive houses.<\/p>\n

The Schneider EcoStruxure building management system:<\/b> Monitors the status of every room (temperature, heating\/cooling, humidity) and mobilizes only the necessary energy at any given time. It also monitors outdoor temperature and uses this data to generate the required hot or cold water temperatures.<\/p>\n

Over the years, we have fully replaced lighting systems with LED technology, achieving a significant reduction in consumption and eliminating unnecessary heat generation.<\/p>\n

Rooms primarily operate with surface (floor, wall, ceiling) heating and cooling, supplemented by fan coils. The two systems are coordinated by the building management system. In winter, priority is given to pleasant surface heating, while in summer, fan coils and surface cooling provide pre-tempering. Water used for heating does not need to be prepared at high temperatures, as surface heating is already effective at 32\u201336 degrees, resulting in further energy savings.<\/p>\n

We regularly maintain our phase correction capacitor to avoid reactive power consumption.<\/p>\n

Our favorable water consumption is ensured by modern Hansgrohe faucets with a flow rate of 5 l\/min and shower aerators set at 12 l\/min. Well water is used for flushing toilets and garden irrigation.<\/p>\n

Pickles, bakery products, and pastries are delivered from Vecs\u00e9s. Vegetables are also sourced from a local greengrocer. For all kitchen raw materials, we strive to work with domestic goods and source products from as close as possible, minimizing the environmental impact of transport.<\/p>\n

All of our cleaning agents are Assist Trend Shutter Zero products, which carry the Ecolabel certification, guaranteeing that they contain no phosphates or nickel and do not cause skin irritation or allergies.<\/p>\n

We refill printer toner cartridges, collect dry batteries separately, and hand them over to CCR Rebat Nonprofit Kft. every six months.<\/p>\n

Of course, we also execute environmental activities required by law. We collect waste selectively, and the contents of our kitchen grease trap, used kitchen oil, and food waste are collected and disposed of by a specialized company.<\/p>\n

The hotel’s outdoor environment is beautifully landscaped, full of plants, flowers, a small garden pond with fish, and turtles. All of this ensures a visually pleasant and lovely environment for our guests.<\/p>\n

Part of the garden green waste is composted, and the compost is reused in garden maintenance. The other portion of green waste is transported to the composting facility by the local municipal services (Vet\u00fcsz).<\/p>\n

A Winterhalter Pass-through, Energy Lite dishwasher was purchased for our kitchen, equipped with heat recovery\u2014meaning it extracts heat from wastewater as it drains and transfers it to incoming cold water.<\/p>\n

Our first-generation heat pumps purchased in 2006 were replaced with the latest NIBE-1345 models, which have an A++ rating.<\/p>\n

Over the years, CRT televisions used at opening were replaced first with LCD TVs and then, in 2018, with LED TVs featuring A++ energy efficiency.<\/p>\n

An Orwak waste compactor was acquired and installed in our waste management area, reducing waste volume as well as garbage disposal fees.<\/p>\n

We converted our garden pond into a bio-pond and created a separate turtle farm. Previously, turtles destroyed plants responsible for self-sustainability, so with the help of an external expert company, we redesigned the pond and successfully established a self-sustaining ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Our facade lighting was replaced with economical LED RGB lighting.<\/p>\n

12% of our total energy consumption is generated by solar panels.<\/p>\n
